About the Training &
Certification Programs
IOFM provides the only training tied to a three-level
certificate program for AP professionals. It gives you
the full toolkit needed to train and certify the AP
specialist, manager or the entire department.
The TAPN/IOFM certification exams can be taken at the
end of the program, and are designed for the AP
specialist (APS), AP manager (APM) and the department
(APD) and signify that an individual (or department) has
demonstrated a core level of accounts payable
proficiency.
Why Is Accounts Payable Certification Necessary?
Much of what is done in accounts payable today has been
developed in the past 5 years – some of it in the last 2
years. Today’s payables professional must use the latest
electronic processing technologies to drastically reduce
the cost of their operations, must work intuitively with
every system and department within the organization, and
must now completely change a number of procedures while
creating new ones due to Sarbanes-Oxley. The profession
has largely kept pace, much to its credit, but accounts
payable has had few ways to demonstrate their expertise
either within the organization or to outside agencies.
Until now.
Who Should Attend?
The program is designed for experienced AP managers,
their staff, or the AP department as a whole, as well as
those overseeing the AP function including accounting
department managers, controllers and shared services
managers, payroll managers, and P-card administrators,
in public, private, governmental and non-profit
organizations.
